Location: Room 003, Naftali Building – Tel Aviv University
As part of the Artificial Intelligence Week hosted by Tel Aviv University on June 25th, the French Embassy and the French Institute of Israel are organizing together with the Foundation France-Israel, a bilateral event focused on advancements in AI applied to healthcare.
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Muriel Dahan, Director of Research & Development at Unicancer ; Dr. Stephane Chaillou, Chief Digital Information Officer at Institut Gustave Roussy ; and M. Yedidia Levy Zauberman, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs & Impact at Owkin, to this event. This gathering serves as a unique platform to bridge the French and Israeli ecosystems and accelerate AI-driven healthcare innovation.
Israel : A Global Leader in AI-Powered Healthcare
Israel has established itself as a global leader in artificial intelligence, boasting 2,200 specialized companies—nearly three times the number recorded 10 years ago. Among its most innovative sectors, digital healthcare stands out, with 58% of HealthTech companies integrating AI into their solutions.
AI is reshaping Israeli medicine through groundbreaking innovations :
• Medical imaging & assisted diagnosis – Cutting-edge algorithms enabling early disease detection.
• Drug discovery & development – Predictive modeling accelerating the creation of new therapies.
• Personalized medicine – Leveraging vast medical databases to tailor treatments.
• Preventive healthcare & telemedicine – AI-driven solutions optimizing risk prediction and care accessibility.
A Dynamic & Resilient Ecosystem
In 2023, Israeli AI startups secured $3.9 billion in funding, demonstrating higher growth and resilience compared to non-AI ventures. In fact, 47% of total startup investments in Israel are directed toward AI, highlighting the sector’s strategic importance.
Israel also benefits from a unique advantage: extensive digitized medical records spanning over three decades and covering a population of 9 million. As a pioneer in Electronic Health Records and with the vast amount of healthcare data digitized by Israel’s healthcare providers over the last 30 years, the country has served as the launching pad for healthcare-focused AI startups, and continues to lead global efforts in medical data utilization and healthcare innovation.
Strengthening France-Israel Collaboration in AI & Healthcare
This bilateral event aims to :
• Foster collaborations between French and Israeli experts in AI-powered healthcare.
